Rays of Hope: St. Pete, Florida, Sunshine City of the Sunshine State, Part II - Culture (Sights & Delights)

The "Rays of Hope" series is my tribute to St. Petersburg, the radiant and charming Floridian city in which I live. Part Two is a selection of casual, unedited photos I have snapped of some of the sights and delights to be found here.

Among these cultural treats are:

The permanent collection of exquisite "free-blown functional and sculptural glass works" by Dale Chihuly, whose masterpieces have graced the halls of the Louvre and the canals of Venice.

The largest collection outside Spain of works by the great Salvador Dalí.

Street art that can only be described as majestic, modestly tucked away amid dumpsters in back alleys.

Shaded trails—for pedestrians, bikers, and Segway riders—running along a waterfront speckled with yachts.

Seasonal events such as the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, which is annually the Verizon Indycar Series season opener.

Architecture and cityscapes that will leave you staring for longer than you realize.

I hope you enjoyed these glimpses of life in St. Pete!
